Meet Jolene O’Brien
MS, RD, LDN

Non-diet dietitian offering individualized nutrition care with strengths in diabetes, intuitive eating, and medical nutrition therapy

Hi, I’m Jolene (she/her), a registered dietitian who follows the non-diet and Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy. I prioritize conversations with clients so I can meet them where they are, institute gradual behavioral changes, and guide them to a healthier lifestyle. With my extensive teaching experience, I am passionate about educating my clients about the intuitive eating framework, empowering them to make the best choices for their health, and helping them overcome barriers to change.

I graduated from Simmons University, where I earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Nutrition and Health Promotion. While pursuing my Master’s Degree, I completed my Dietetic Internship and gained clinical experience at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts. I have received a Certificate of Training for Diabetes from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This, coupled with my personal experience with diabetes, qualifies me to provide care and confidence for those who find diabetes challenging, a specialty of mine. I also hold a degree in education from the University of Maine, a Master’s in Curriculum and Development from Lesley College, and have taught middle school for twelve years.

I am proficient in a wide range of nutrition-related concepts, including intuitive eating principles, HAES, health promotion strategies, and medical nutrition therapy. It is my practice that each session is individualized, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, and moving away from the one-size-fits-all mentality of modern diet culture. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion for a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Happily serving individuals in their unique journeys to rediscover sustainable, whole-person wellness.

Wherever you are in your journey, we’ll meet you there.
