Meet your dietitian
Josh Palomera,
MS, RD, CSN
Anti-diet sports and eating disorder dietitian helping athletes fuel performance, recover well, and build a more supportive relationship with food.
Hi, I’m Josh (he/him), an anti-diet dietitian who balances evidence-based nutrition care with the realities of day-to-day life. As a former athlete, I understand the importance of nutrition for fueling performance and supporting recovery, while also recognizing that food is about much more than fuel. I work with clients to find that balance for themselves, listen to their bodies, build trust in their own choices, and feel more empowered around food.
Through my rotations in collegiate athletics and four years working at Bates College, I’ve developed a strong understanding of the unique challenges collegiate athletes face. I help athletes navigate the demands of academics and training while developing sustainable fueling strategies that support performance, recovery, and overall well-being.
I also have experience helping athletes recognize and address the risks of low energy availability and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), navigate eating disorders and disordered eating, and make informed decisions about supplements within NCAA guidelines. My goal is to help athletes see nutrition as a tool that supports both their performance and their relationship with food, so they can fuel confidently, recover well, and enjoy their sport without nutrition becoming another source of pressure.
