Carolyn Milles, RDN, LD
I'm Carolyn, a third generation Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who believes life is for living, not restricting.
I believe that effective nutrition counseling is centered not only around nutrition assessment and planning but, more importantly, an individual’s relationship with food and body. Behavioral lifestyle changes along with mindful and intuitive eating patterns are crucial to long-term health and optimal quality of life. My goal is to effectively communicate the science behind nutrition to a diverse audience via a weight-inclusive lens in a fun, practical manner.
Three Generations of Dietitians
As the granddaughter of one dietitian and the daughter of another, my appreciation for food and nutrition began in my most formative years. Photo below: from the right you will see myself, my mother Kristin, my grandmother Ruth, my cousin Michelle and her husband Brian (all dietitians).

As a non-diet dietitian, she is passionate and knowledgeable about intuitive & mindful eating while practicing from a weight-inclusive lens. She has spent 6 years working in retail supermarket, oncology, and worksite wellness dietetics. She also does nutrition communications via online channels including her blog, Food Confidence Podcast and recipe development for food brands.
Andrea hails from Nova Scotia, Canada, where she completed both her undergraduate degree at Acadia University and her Dietetic Internship through Dietitians of Canada and Nova Scotia Health Authority. She lives in the Portland area with her partner and pup with an equal love for baking, spending time outside, and watching Netflix.
